Raffle for a spectacular hand-crocheted Antebellum Bed Doll. This one-of-a-kind display doll has taken Penny Watkins of Lake Lure over 400 hours to make. Tickets will be sold all three Sundays and the drawing will be held at the closing of the event. TICKETS: $1 ea., or 6 for $5.
Sunday, Nov. 20: 1-4 CHRISTMAS IS FOR KIDS Our first fun program will revolve around kids and take place on the first Sunday of our Community Christmas Celebration. FREE PHOTOS WITH SANTA

Sunday, Dec. 4: 1-4 THE TASTE OF CHRISTMAS On our second Sunday, come get a taste of Traditional Yuletide foods from Around the World. The Friends will serve samples of traditional Christmas fixins’, including: Scottish Shortbread, Irish Soda Bread, Polish Cruchiki, Austrian Cookies, Italian Noel bread, Dutch Almond Spice Cookies, English and Scottish scones to name a few!! Plus there’ll be music to go with these tasty samples.
- 1-1:45 “TALL PAUL” will strum carols & folk music on his guitar
- 2-2:30 KEN POTTER will play the BAGPIPES
- 3:15-4 DEBORAH WILKIE will play Yuletide music on her harp and sing traditional Christmas songs
Sunday, Dec. 11: 1-4 THE SOUNDS OF CHRISTMAS Local choirs and musical groups are coming to carol at the library on our last Sunday, filling the building with the sounds and songs of Christmas.
- 1:30-2 LAKE LURE SINGERS will sing Yuletide Songs & Spirituals
- 2:15-2:45 CHRISTOPHER LAUGHTER will play Bavarian Christmas melodies on his Accordion.
- 3-3:30 FAIRFIELD MOUNTAIN CHAPEL CHOIR MEMBERS will sing Carols
- 3:30-4 GAIL WILSON will lead the audience in a SING-ALONG of Christmas Carols
